On October 18, 2016, the Unistream translation system stopped working in Ukraine.

Unistream does not work in Ukraine

Recall that the Unistream money transfer system of Russia, which carried out transfers mainly to the CIS countries: Ukraine, Russia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and other countries. It fell under the ban on activities in Ukraine in connection with the expansion of sanctions against individuals and legal entities registered in the Russian Federation signed by the president in decree No. 467/2016 published on the president’s website.

For the first half of 2016, the company Unistream  (Unistream) covered 10% of the Ukrainian translation market share. The main direction of transfers was the CIS countries. The transfer system had a simplified procedure for receiving funds; when sending, only the name and surname of the recipient, his phone number and country of receipt of the transfer should be indicated.

Transfer systems under sanctions in Ukraine

Recall that also under the sanctions on the territory of Ukraine such transfer systems as:

  • Hummingbird
  • International money transfers Leader:
  • Gold Crown:
  • Anelik:
  • Blizko.

According to the National Bank, the share of transfers through already banned Russian payment systems to Ukraine according to the results of 2015 amounted to more than 43% of funds transferred through all international payment systems, which amounted to about one billion US dollars in money. Transfers from Ukraine through these systems last year exceeded 50%, and is equal to about 215 million USD.

Financial market experts believe that perhaps these companies will go for corporate restructuring or other similar companies will be created that will comply with the laws of the country and will not be sanctioned. That is, most likely there will be new companies reincarnated from the old participants, which will be able to carry out the previous activities.
